Originally designed to treat medical problems caused by muscle spasms, botulinum toxin is a protein injected into the skin with tiny needles in order to decrease lines on the face caused by muscle contraction. Most commonly, we treat forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. We charge by the unit, and the number of units necessary for treatment are determined during your evaluation. Usual treatments can range from the $300 range to > $600.

How much does it cost?

  • $13/ unit for Botox and Dysport
  • $12/unit for Jeuveau

How long does the procedure take?

Book a 30 minute appointment and the procedure is complete in a few minutes!

What can I do before and after the treatment to get the best outcome?

Follow the pre-and post-injection instructions given to you by your provider, emailed to you before your appointment, and listed here:

BEFORE:

  • To reduce the risk of bruising, bleeding, swelling:
    • No NSAIDS (advil/ motrin/ ibuprofen, aspirin, aleve) for 3-5 days prior to injection
    • Avoid Vitamin E, flax seed, fish oil, gingko biloba, garlic, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, and blood thinners too (ask your PCP about any discontinuing any medications)
    • Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours
    • Starting arnica supplements 2 days before your appointment may help
  • If you have a history of cold sores, let us know – we can write a prescription to prevent a flare.
  • Avoid waxing, BBL, IPL or laser for seven days prior
  • Cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Schedule at least two weeks before any big event.

AFTER:

  • Avoid pressure to the injection site for at least 4 hours to prevent repositioning the neurotoxin
    • No massage
    • No hats or fitted headbands
  • Don’t lie down for 4 hours after injections
  • Take Tylenol for soreness, no NSAIDs ( Advil, Motrin, ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve)
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for today – take a walk instead
  • Avoid makeup for today (increases risk of infection)

When will I see results, and how long will it last?

Depending on dosing (higher dosing provides longer lasting results!), anti-wrinkle injections take two weeks to settle in, peak at 1 month, and completely go back to baseline within 3-4 months.

Who is the best candidate for this procedure?

Anyone over the age of 18 who has lines at rest as a result of facial expression (i.e. horizontal lines on your forehead or vertical lines between the eyebrows) and discusses their medical history with their provider. You may not use anti-wrinkle injections if you’re hypersensitive to any botulinum toxin preparation or any component of the formulation.

Is it safe for pregnant women?

No, pregnant or nursing women may not receive botulinum toxin injections.

What are the risks?

It’s possible to get a bruise, which may be covered with makeup. You may be sore at the injection site.

What is the downtime after the procedure?

After injection, you may expect to have mosquito bite-like bumps that will go away in 10 to 15 minutes. Anytime a needle enters the skin, there is a risk of injection site reactions like bruising or redness, which may last up to two weeks. Plan your injections at least two weeks before any big event. You may apply makeup the next day after treatment.

Microneedling (with or without PRP)

New Patient Appointment: 90 minutes
Established Patient Appointment: 90 minutes
$450 Microneedling with hyaluronic acid glide
$600 Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling is a procedure in which a motorized device delivers a stamped array of tiny needles to create microchannels in the dermis that allow for deeper penetration of topical skincare ingredients, stimulates the wound healing cascade, and induces neocollagenesis (formation of new collagen). Patients will see improvement in acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and texture. Numbing cream is applied to the skin 30 minutes before the procedure so it’s completely comfortable.

  • What is the downtime after the procedure?
    • Most expected adverse reactions should resolve within one week of the procedure. Most patients are able to wear makeup within 24 hours.
  • What can I do before the treatment to get the best outcome?
    • Follow the instructions given by your provider.
  • How much does it cost?
    • The fee for service is $350 – watch out for specials!
  • How long will it last?
    • Results are permanent, however we recommend a series of three to six treatments separated by 4 or more weeks for new patients, and then maintenance treatments as desired.
  • How long does the procedure take?
    • Your appointment is 1 hour, but the procedure itself takes less than 30 minutes.
  • Who is the best candidate for this procedure?
    • Anyone looking to improve the texture and brightness of their skin.
  • Is it safe for pregnant women?
    • Microneedling is generally safe for pregnant or nursing women, but we require clearance from your OB/GYN.
  • What are the risks?
    • Adverse reactions can include mild pain, redness, swelling, crusting, bruising, soreness, and pinpoint bleeding. Wait for 24 hours before applying makeup or Chapstick. Wearing makeup or applying your chapstick within 24 hours of completing the procedure can increase the risk of infection.
  • When will I see results?
    • Improvement can be seen in a few days, but your skin will continue to improve over the coming weeks.

PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma is a part of your own blood which we obtain by drawing and then spinning your blood in a centrifuge to separate the components. The yellow gold fluid we end up with is PRP, and it can be added to a microneedling service or injected into the skin to improve the appearance of skin. PRP is full of your body's own growth factors which can augment collagen induction therapy when it is applied topically prior to microneedling.

  • How much does it cost?
    • $150 addition to the fee for service for microneedling.
  • How long does the procedure take?
    • PRP therapy adds another 20 minutes to your procedure.
  • Is it safe for pregnant women?
    • PRP is safe for pregnant and nursing patients.
